Interpreter

BSL/Eng Interpreter

I am a British/English Sign Language interpreter based in Leeds. I offer a blended service of both face to face and remote interpreting.

Are you looking to make to your event or course accessible to the deaf community?  Then I maybe the interpreter for you! I have a wealth of experience not only interpreting for events and courses, but also as an events organiser and teacher myself. I draw on my experience of the needs of your role and my expertise in the deaf community to deliver a coherent service for all.

Are you a deaf professional looking for an interpreter with experience working alongside deaf professionals?  I can’t make everything at work easy, but I can make the communication run smoothly! I have provided ATW in a number of settings including offices, high pressure medical settings, factories and for clients with public facing roles. I am a firm believer in collaboration and am happy to adapt my interpreting to match your needs where possible.

My Background: I qualified as an interpreter in 2012 and have worked in the deaf community in various roles since 2006. I specialise in Higher Education but also work in a variety of settings including community, medical, ATW, training and conferences.

  • Education (University)
  • Training Courses
  • ATW
  • Conference

Co-working

I always enjoy co-working with Rosemary, she’s been super supportive and professional every time.

Goes above and beyond

I have known Rosemary professionally since managing the team for supporting deaf students at Bradford College.  Rosemary always goes above and beyond her stated duties.  Even though she was employed as a freelance member of the team she would always be keen to attend team meetings and training.  She is extremely professional and popular with a huge range of deaf students (from entry level with additional needs through to deaf students studying for degrees).  She is very passionate about students having appropriate access to their chosen courses.

She is one of those members of staff who you can put anywhere and never have any niggling doubts that she’ll do anything other than a great job.  Although she is more qualified than most of the permanent CSW team I have never heard her be anything other than encouraging and supportive.  On the odd occasion that she has found herself in less than ideal situations (whether tutor or student or environment) she has always come to discuss it and been solution-focussed.  Although I can’t comment on Rosie’s interpreting work outside of the education field I wouldn’t hesitate to employ her for her interpreting skills, passion and professionalism.
