Meditation Teacher
BSOM registered
I have had some form of regular meditation practice for over 15years. In all honesty daily practice has come and gone during that time. During the pandemic I came to realise that I have always used more formal daily meditation practices during times of crisis and recovery, only to let them dwindle and end up coming full circle again some where down the road. I had the realisation that if I practiced when times were good, I’d have a better foundation for when those times of need came about. So I set upon a more regular formal/sitting practice and integrating more forms of ‘informal’ meditation into my life. Seeing its value I was inspired to share this skill which has served me so well over the years, and add it to my already established teaching practice in dance and wellness.
In 2021 I trained with the British School of Meditation (BSOM) to teach meditation. After passing the course (with a distinction!) I applied to join the BSOM register in early 2022. Being a part of the register gives me support to continue developing and my students the reassurance that my teaching practice is overseen by a larger body, and must meet certain standards.
I am particularly interested in the science that is emerging about meditation, which proves all the wonderful benefits meditation can have. As a teacher I want to guide my students into having the confidence and knowledge to develop their own private meditation practice. I also want to build spaces where people can come together to support each other with their meditation.
